Berendeng. Consumer shop
A good medical centre has been built in Berendeng with the support of a Dutch immigrant garage owner. Sponsoring from Germany provided a Mercedes ambulance. This car runs on petrol and is too big for the narrow bush roars and therefore of no use in the rainy season.
There are no financial means to run the medical centre. The idea came up to open up a consumer shop in the village. Its proceeds could finance the medical centre. The funds needed for the starting up of this shop are estimated at 120,000 Dalasis/ 4000 Euros.
In addition there is an urgent need for a pharmacy in the medical centre.
The international organisation Pharmacie Mundial will supply the pharmacy with sponsored medicines worth 4000 Euros.
Stock may be replenished by profits made.
The medical centre could do with solar panels for electricity supply.

The ambulance has already been replaced by an Isuzu Trooper donated by team (802) The Offroad Runners, Edwin van Mameren en Vincent van Zetten, in the October 2009 Challenge. The Mercedes ambulance has been given on loan to Jiboro medical centre.
