Sanyang boasts a hospital, well equipped by African standards. There is even a complete dental practice with X-ray facilities. A physiotherapy practice has also been started. The hospital, opened in 2004, was realized chiefly by funds from the main sponsor, Stichting Hospitaal Sanyang The Gambia, from Nieuw Vennep in The Netherlands. The hospital functions as a regional hospital serving the medical needs of over 20,000 people. The Dutch foundation works in close conjunction with the Village Development Committee (VDC).

The hospital is always having difficulties to pay their staff, therefore the Stichting Hospitaal Sanyang has adopted this hospital to keep an eye on the bookkeeping department. You can ride for this project in order to support this hospital financially.
