Kitty, extension upper basic school
The upper basic school in Kitty was built in 2000. This school consists of 9 classrooms for 12 forms on a site of 150x 200 meters. At the moment the school is attended by 535 pupils.
Because of lack of space the pupils attend school in shifts: one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Sometimes four pupils share a bench intended for two children only, and this in a room with 84 pupils.

The school has some other problems too: there is no computer room, no assembly hall and no fence. The major problem, however, is the lack of space for the pupils . Therefore there are now concrete plans for an extra building of three classrooms, an office, and a storage room for teaching materials.
This building has been estimated at 600,000 Dalasis (!7,142 Euro)
It is hoped that this amount will be raised by gifts and sponsoring.
The construction time is estimated at 5 to 6 months.
