Kunkujang (Gunjur)
Kunkujang Nursery School is the only nursery school in the area. It is attended by 181 pupils and was started by private initiative. For further education, first form primary school, children have to go to Basic Cycle School in Nyofellah, 3 kms away.

The old part of the school buildings is in a deplorable state. After the rainy season a classroom could no longer be used, because the roof had been blown off. So now two groups share one room. The other part of the buildings, sponsored by Swedish organisations, is no more than a shell.
The class rooms have sand floors and no ventilation. The furniture is in a very poor state. There are no toys at all for the children nor any other teaching materials.
The classrooms need plastering and decorating.
There is a need for a room to prepare a simple meal for the pupils.
The teachers work on a voluntary basis, since there is no money to pay for their salaries. The aim is to expand the school in the future, one form at a time, so that children do not need to go other villages for further basic education.
The nearby well has run dry and needs deepening, so that the pupils and neighbouring families have drinking water. The situation of this nursery school is very deplorable.
