Kerr Ardo, Bouw en omheining skill center

De Kerr Ardo gemeenschap is een netwerk dat bestaat uit tien dorpen rond Kerr Ardo. De totale gemeenschap telt naar schatting 2305 mensen. Deze cluster van gemeenten is gelegen in een gebied waar cultuur en traditie de deelname en bijdrage ernstig belemmeren van de vrouwen met betrekking tot kwesties in verband met geslachts gelijkheid. Dus deze plaats is zeer gevoelig is als het gaat om kwesties met betrekking tot geslacht. Ook al zal men niet ontkennen het feit dat mensen van de regio zeer vindingrijk zijn en begaan met name in vaardigheden zoals timmerwerk, tie-dye, zeep maken voor zowel mannen als vrouwen in deze activiteiten. Maar waar het probleem ligt is dat mensen onder wie vrouwen en mannen hun rechten niet kennen en de wetten die rechten en plaats te beschermen geleid door de wet, ze zijn principes van hun cultuur, tradities en religie die alleen benadrukken de ondergeschikte rol van vrouwen en onderhouden strikt de superioriteit van mannen. Dit heeft hiaten gebracht in het gebied (Gemeenschappen) omdat het alleen mannen die worden gecontroleerd en voor gebruik waartoe vrouwen; Dit moedigt de cultuur van nultolerantie onder de mensen aan en dus laat ze vrouwen op elk klein foutje zelfs degene die kan worden gecorrigeerd door een dialoog beslag.

2. Achtergrond informatie van het project

Dit project zal worden beheerd door het Initiatief voor Duurzame Ontwikkeling (ISD) .Het is een geregistreerd als een Community Based Organisation (CBO) is de werkloosheid in Gambia .Geleid door de beginselen van participatieve ontwikkeling en erkenning van de gemeenschap kennis te verminderen, waarden en ervaring, zal alles in het het werk worden gesteld om een duurzame ontwikkeling die een blijvend effect op het leven van de armen zal promoten.

Het is duidelijk zichtbaar dat er een betekenis ontwikkelen zonder de actieve participatie van jongeren en mannen zowel vrouwen kan zijn. Als vrouwen passief zijn te betrekken bij zaken die hen aangaan, de gemeenschap milieu en ontwikkeling in het algemeen, als ze niet worden gezien als mensen met mogelijkheden en rechten die kan dienen als partner in de ontwikkeling, dan ontwikkeling zal een omgekeerde trend te nemen en dus vertraagd zijn, Het is niet van deze achtergrond van bewijs, de hiervoor genoemde netwerk van gemeenschappen leden elkaar gebrainstormd op kwesties die resulteerde in de ontwikkeling van dit voorstel voor de ondersteuning van de geschetste capaciteiten van de mensen in de gemeenschappen, met het oog activiteiten om begrip te verbeteren en de eenheid om vrouwen te maximaliseren en mannen in het ontwikkelingsproces.

De training zal proberen aan te pakken zowel de praktische en de strategische behoeften van vrouwen en jongeren, toch meer de nadruk zal worden gelegd op de strategische behoeften geplaatst want dat daagt de status quo en geven vrouwen de mogelijkheid om te worden vertegenwoordigd en deelnemen aan de besluitvorming zaken. Dit zal een lange weg te gaan zijn in het veranderen van de stereotype rol van de vrouwen die in de meeste gevallen wordt gezien en beschouwd als producenten van de kinderen en het huishouden managers in plaats van de partner in de ontwikkeling van de familie huishouden verbinding, gemeenschap en de natie als geheel.

Al deze gebeuren als gevolg van het gebrek aan elementaire kennis over informatietechnologie kwesties en de nieuwe dienst conventies van het land .in om deze decadente situatie zowel mannen als vrouwen moeten worden geïnformeerd over zaken veranderen en samen zullen zij in staat om te creëren en maken een z.g.level playing field waar beide recht op menselijke waardigheid en mogelijkheden om actief deel te nemen in hun ontwikkeling en welzijn zullen hebben.

3. project beoogt / Doelstellingen

Een perceel oppervlakte van 2 hectare verworven en omheind met maart 2010 om betrokkenheid bij het maken van zeep, tie-dye, timmer- en afstemmen voor de veiligheid doel.

Om de preventie van de omgeving te verbeteren

De jeugd te betrekken in de computertechnologie dienst

Om de werkloosheid in Gambia te verlagen

Voor faciliteit duurzame ontwikkeling in NBR zorgen

Door bevorderlijke werkomgeving te verbeteren door het bouwen van een permanent eigendom structuur op grond in eigendom van de organisatie.

Een bevorderlijke leeromgeving voor lokale boeren met name vrouwen en jongeren te verbeteren.

Een gunstig onderdak site voor vrouwen en jongeren te bieden tijdens trainingen.

4. Project Activiteiten

De activiteiten van KACADSC zijn capaciteitsopbouw van doelgroepen, Advocacy, community outreach projecten, zoals moestuinen, voedselzekerheid, gezondheid, agro-bosbouw en boomgaard ontwikkeling, veeteelt kleine herkauwers en pluimvee, bijenteelt, voedselverwerking en conservering met duurzaam milieu beheer via de productie van verbeterde kooktoestellen die biomassa producten (dwz aardnoten schelpen, rijst kaf, gierst stengels, maïskolven) gebruik als brandstof voor het koken dus te bestrijden en te beperken opwarming van de aarde

Het project uit te voeren in 6 maanden en we zijn van plan om te beginnen met maart 2016

6. Project Outcomes

De belangrijkste verwachte resultaten van het project zijn: (i) boeren organisaties voorzien van relevante capaciteitsopbouw vaardigheden voor vrouwengroepen en agro-processors; (ii) boerengroepen deelnemen aan een betere toegevoegde waarde en marketing activiteiten en / of het aangaan van verbeterde contractuele relaties met de markt agenten. De resultaten zullen worden bereikt door: (iii) efficiënte en effectieve projectcoördinatie en M & E mechanismen, geïntegreerd in het district structuren, in de plaats en de regionale samenwerking tussen aardnoten producenten op coöperatieve basis verbeterd. Het is de bedoeling om in totaal ongeveer zeventig vrouwen `s apex groepen omgevormd tot coöperatie in de regio's te versterken.

De begroting voor de bouw van het skill center is voorlopig vastgesteld op 253.000 Dalasis ( 5883 Euro)

Thus the locality is not the least sensitive and conducive when it comes to issues relating to gender. Even though one will not deny the fact that people of the area are highly resourceful and committed especially in skill such as carpentry , tie-dye, soap making for both men and women venture into these activities . However where the problem lies is that people including women and men to not know their rights and the laws that protect those rights instead of being guided by the laws, they are principles of their culture, tradition and religion which only emphasize the subordinate roles of women and maintain strictly the superiority of men. This has brought gaps in the area (Communities) since it is only men who are being controlled and for use decided upon by womens; this encourages the culture of zero tolerance amongst men and thus permits them to batter wives at any little mistake even the one that can be corrected by dialogue

Background and Justification

This project will be managed by the Initiative for Sustained Development (ISD).It is a registered as a Community Based Organization (CBO) is to reduce the rate of unemployment in The Gambia .Guided with the principles of participatory development and recognition of community knowledge, values and experience, effort will be made to promote sustainable development that will have a lasting effect in the lives of the poor.

Due to KACSDC long standing advocacy on the thematic perennial problem associated with the groundnut sub sector and horticulture which is considered the core of rural economy, a wide known complex production problem, due to the marketing of this particular golden crop has long been existing and little or limited solutions were taken to mitigate the suffering of the poor rural producers that may likely form 80%, of this 55% are women. There was no tangible remedy to this problem and KACSDC through consultation with the rural people though it prudent to develop this project and seek funding thus to ameliorate the suffering of the rural women forks. With its wide range of knowledge affect this sector through this project, will enable the mobilization of community based organizations in particular the groundnut producers in the north bank region by transforming must of the existing women groups into the small scale processing cooperative and marketing producers.

7. Project Implementation: During the project implementation after approval, the price of materials were more than the actual costs thus the Institution (KACSDC) had to develop some copping strategy through co-funding of the difference from other project budget lines to meet the objective. It was never anticipated that such drastic cutting will be made to the project during justification with the coordinator. Certain budget lines were promised to be untouched but after the approval, only material costs budget line were approved thus causing some difficulties as this was never anticipated.

8. Outcomes Achieved: The project outcome`s were fully attained as communities commitment was very resilient and managements at all apex`s where strengthen as the apex`s have build their managerial skills thus assuring quality resource mobilization and management.

10. Describe any lessons learned that your organization has taken from this project. The lessons learn are that the fund was very rigid during the face to face consultation which has cause serious impediment during the implementation as budgetary difficulties were encountered and the recipients had to sacrifice to ensure that the project is implemented thus to keep its cooperate responsibility to the local counter parts the beneficiary communities. We also learnt that there should have been consultation with donor to revise the budget as some of the proforma were not realistic.

11. Other comments or observations: The fund need to holistically respond to the demand of the applications even if there will be cuttings this has to be done very objectively thus to avoid impediments during project implementation. As projects are developed in partnership with beneficiary communities thus to allow them to learn in the proposal development and overtime build their skills. If the proposal budget is cut by 80%, this signals suspicion between the local CBO`s and their local beneficiaries the communities who have a stake during the proposal development.
