Jattaba Village, omheining health post

De gemeenschap van Jattaba in het district Kiang West in de regio Lower River is sinds de jaren tachtig een gemeenschap voor primaire gezondheidszorg. Er is een dorpsgezondheidswerker en een CBC, die het eerste aanspreekpunt zijn voor gezondheidskwesties in het dorp. In de loop der jaren achtte de Jattaba Youth Development Association (JYDA) het noodzakelijk om de gezondheidsrespons in de gemeenschap en de omgeving te verbeteren door een drogisterij te bouwen om gemakkelijke toegang tot behandeling te vergemakkelijken. Deze drogisterij staat onder toezicht van het inheemse gezondheidspersoneel uit de gemeenschap. Dat heeft geholpen om basisaandoeningen te behandelen voor patiënten in de omgeving.
Met de recente toename van de bevolking en een veranderende gezondheidstrend, is het nodig om de PHC te upgraden tot een basis Community Health Center zoals bedacht door de Youth Development Association. Dit is het gevolg van het feit dat de verre gezondheidsfaciliteiten en vervoermiddelen meestal een probleem vormen, wat leidt tot vertraging bij het verkrijgen van toegang tot geschikte diensten.
Met betrekking tot het bovengenoemde, wordt verwacht dat het hekwerkproject bescherming en veiligheid zal bieden aan de Jattaba Community Health Post
De belangrijkste activiteiten zullen het volgende omvatten:
- Aankoop van zand en grind
- Aanbesteding van een aannemer
- Aankoop van cement
- Opzetten van een omheining
- Decoratie
Dit project zal naar verwachting in totaal drie maanden in beslag nemen.

The community of Jattaba in Kiang West District of Lower River Region is a Primary Health Care Community since in the 1980s. There is a Village Health Worker and a CBC, who are the first line of contacts for health matters in the village. Over the years, the Jattaba Youth Development Association (JYDA) deemed it necessary to improve the health response service in the community and surroundings by constructing a drug store to facilitate easy access to treatment. This drug store is being supervised by the native health personnel from the community. That has helped to provide treatment of basic ailments for patients around the area. 

With the recent increase in population and a changing health trend, there is a need to upgrade the PHC into a basic Community Health Centre as conceived by the Youth Development Association. This is as a result of the distant health facilities and means of transportation usually pose a problem leading to delay in accessing appropriate services. 

Relating to the above mentioned, the fencing project is expected to provide protection and security to the Jattaba Community Health Post

The key activities will include the following:

  • Procurement of sand and gravel
  • Procurement of a contractor
  • Procurement of cement
  • Erection of a perimeter fence
  • Decoration 

This project is expected to take Three months in total.

Specific objectives

Procure 40 trips of sand and 5trips of gravel

Procure 200 bags of cement

Erect perimeter fence around Jattaba Community Health Center (75m X85m)

Hire a contractor to erect perimeter fence
