Lamin Town, Teambus en voetbaluitrustingen

Lamin is een van de snelstgroeiende steden in Gambia met meer dan 50.000 inwoners. 60% van de inwoners zijn jongeren onder de 21 jaar. Binnen deze leeftijdscategorie is 30% van de jongeren werkloos en nog eens 20% van deze jongeren heeft hun opleiding niet afgemaakt na de leeftijd van 14 tot 18 jaar.

Doelen en doelstellingen

1. Landbouw promoten als een empowermentinstrument om lokale armoede en afhankelijkheid van illegaal toerisme uit te bannen en de millenniumdoelen voor voedselzelfvoorziening te bereiken.

2. Samenhorigheid en eenheid in de samenleving versterken, want wij geloven er sterk in dat mensen door middel van sport verenigd kunnen worden door verandering.

3.Voetbal inzetten als een middel om betrokkenheid te creëren en onderwijs te bevorderen, zodat al onze spelers naar school gaan. Dit bereiken we door de band die de Academie heeft opgebouwd met de scholen waar onze stagiaires naartoe gaan.

De aanschaf van de teambus zal helpen de uitgaven van de academie aan teamreizen te verminderen en zal tevens de last van de ouders verlichten om de reiskosten van de kinderen te vergoeden.

Wat betreft de voetbalmaterialen: de academie investeert met de kleine bedragen die we uit onze inkomstenbronnen ontvangen fors in de aanschaf van voetbaluitrusting en met deze steun kunnen we onze fondsen herinvesteren in het verbeteren van de ondersteuning van onze school- en gezinsondersteuningsprogramma's.

De looptijd van het project is voor de eeuwigheid, waardoor we een impact hebben op het leven van de kinderen, wat zeer gewaardeerd wordt door alle leden van de gemeenschap, en met name de ouders van onze spelers.

KGH Sports FAC werd opgericht in december 2000 en officieel geregistreerd bij de Gambiaanse voetbalbond in 2007. De academie is opgezet met voetbal als middel om de ontevreden jongeren in de stad Lamin te betrekken en ligt op slechts 3 km afstand van de internationale luchthaven van Banjul.

KGH Sports FAC was formed in December 2000 and officially registered with The Gambia FootballAssociation in 2007. The academy was set up using football as an engagement tool for the disaffectedyoung people in the Town of Lamin and located just 3km away from the Banjul International Airport.

Lamin is one of the fastest growing Towns in The Gambia with a population of 50,000 plus people. 60%of the town inhabitants are young people under the age of 21. Within this age group 30 % of the youngpeople are unemployed and a further 20% of these young people failed to complete their educationbeyond the age of 14 to 18 years

Aims & Objectives

To promote agricultural farming as an empowerment tool to eliminate local poverty, reliance onillegal tourism and also to attain the millennium development goals of food self sufficiency

2. to enhance togetherness and oneness within the society for we strongly believe in the fact that,thus, through sports, people can be united through change

Using football as an engagement tool to promote education ensuring that all our players areschool going kids and this is achieving with the link the Academy established with schools that our internsare attending.

The acquisition of the Team Bus will help to reduce the expenditure that the Academy does in teamtravelling and also it will ease down the burden on the parents to cover the transport refunds of the children.

As for the football materials, the academy from the little funds gained from our income sources, weheavily invest in the procurement of football equipment’s and with this support, it we redirect our fundsto enhancing support to our school and family support programs.

The duration of the project is for eternity thus we have started making impact on the lives of the children which is highly valued by all enders of the community and moreover the parents of our player
