Project Description (200 words) e.g. objectives, activities and duration, etc.

Sittanunku Nema horticultural women’s Garden is currently struggling with water supply. As a coping strategy, women spend hours at the garden waiting for the reservoirs to fetch and they water their beds in alternating days. The garden is fenced and gated, they have a storage room toilet facilities in the garden. There are three dried wells in the garden. The essence of the project is to provide a much-needed source of water for the garden. Once there is sufficient water supply in the garden, the women who had left their beds to fallow will come back to work and those currently working there will  boost their production. With the solid structures and facilities in place, the garden is set up to succeed in increasing their yield and production, which in turn will increase their income and by extension their living standards.

This is the type of wells in this garden which are unsafe and inadequate for women gardeners
